Why is it that some ACSI camp sites do not give the CampingCard ACSI discount?
Every year ACSI inspects more than 8600 camp sites throughout Europe. Of these, 2301 will be participating in CampingCard ACSI in 2012. You can stay overnight at these 2301camp sites for the special CampingCard ACSI rates. Camp sites which participate in CampingCard ACSI and therefore offer a discount on presentation of your card display a sticker at the reception with a special CC logo (a blue hexagon with the letters CC in white) in addition to the ACSI logo (black with two red tents). If that logo is not displayed the camp site does not participate in CampingCard ACSI.

You will find all 2301 camp sites in a separate CampingCard ACSI guide and on the website www.campingcard.com. These 2109 CampingCard ACSI participants are indicated in our other ACSI camp site guides by the blue CC logo.

Because you get this message when you start the ACSI Camp site DVD Europe, it may seem that the so-called SmartSound Quicktracks Plugin.msi is part of our product. This is not so. This plug-in is part of, or an addition to another program or another product that is installed on your computer. Various Adobe or multimedia products for example. Only the producers of these other programs of which the plug-in is a part can give you information about this message and how to ensure that you do not receive the message again. What is GPS and how does it work?
GPS is an abbreviation for Global Positioning System. In order to pinpoint exactly where you are anywhere in the world, more than 20 satellites encircle the earth. The system was originally developed for military use but is now much used by walkers and mountain climbers. And also by navigation systems in cars. Using a GPS system you receive signals from various satellites. The apparatus combines the various signals and calculates precisely where you are. The exact position is expressed in two coordinates: one with an N for northern latitude and one with an E for eastern longitude. Small tent symbols on the maps in the ACSI Camp site guides and on the ACSI Camp site DVD Europe show exactly where the entrance to the camp site is located. Our inspectors measure the exact position of the camp site using their own GPS apparatus. ASCI lists the GPS coordinates of the camp sites on www.eurocampings.net. You can download the coordinates from this site directly onto your own navigation system.
